Performing a Jawbone UP2 Reset often allows you to resolve difficulties and many issues with your tracker quickly without erasing any of your personal data. Here are the steps to do it.
Jawbone UP2 Soft Reset Steps
With the charging ports attached on the tracker, line up the charging cable to the magnetic pins. Connect the charging cable with the band attached into the wall charger or a computer USB port. You will see the three status lights on your tracker to light up. Unplug the charging cable from the USB port and immediately connect it back in less than 5 seconds. You should see all three status lights blink all together, slowly in the beginning, then go faster quickly, until all three status lights stop blinking for a second. It takes around 4–5 seconds to complete this light sequence. You successfully complete the soft reset when you see all three status lights start to blink in sequence.
Jawbone UP2 Reset Alternative
Try this secondary reset after performing a soft reset on your tracker and the issues persist. You won’t lose your stored data. First plug your tracker to the USB charging cable. Now press and hold the small button on the side of the charging cable button for 3 seconds. Let go the button then hurriedly connect the charging cable into the charger. You will see blinking on the tracker’s display icons. Fully charged your band as keeping it connected to the charger. Release the charging cable when runner icon lit solidly. You will complete the secondary Jawbone UP2 Soft Reset once you’ve pair your tracker with the UP App.
Jawbone UP2 Hard Reset
Your tracker will be completely fresh as all the history and data in the tracker is erased if you perform a hard reset. Make sure you only perform this reset if the soft reset could not solve the issues. Follow these steps to do a hard reset on your tracker. Make sure you have enough battery power in the tracker. Push 10 times the key on your tracker. Keep the button pressed for 10 seconds on the 10th push and you will see a red light blinks on the tracker. Pair the tracker with the app to finish the process. This process is similar to that when you set the tracker for the first time. If you have issues on your tracker like it is not charging or not working well, unresponsive to the app, you can try these resets. You should perform the hard reset if you have performed Jawbone UP2 Soft Reset but it does not solve the issues.
