Fitbit Surge Update Preparation
It will consume battery power more and takes a while to perform a firmware update so your need to charge your tracker at first. Please keep in mind that you may see an incorrect step count for 24 hours if you update your watch when it resets its data at midnight. Now check that you have installed the latest version of the Fitbit app on your phone. To see the firmware version on the Fitbit apps, choose the Account tab and choose the tracker tile. The version number can be found underneath the most recent sync time. The version number can also be found on the Fitbit page dashboard on your device settings with the gear icon in the right top. To see your current firmware version on the tracker, you can swipe to the Settings screen.
Fitbit Surge Update Installation
Launch the Fitbit app while the charged tracker is close to you. Update is available is you see the pink arrow at the top of the screen next to the watch name. Tap the arrow to start Fitbit Surge Update. Do not move the tracker away from the mobile device during the update and follow the steps on the screen. Plug in the wireless sync dongle that came with your tracker if you use Windows 10 computer to update.
Make sure you run the latest version of Fitbit Connect when updating your tracker. Press the Fitbit Connect icon on your computer placed close to the time and date. Reinstall the Fitbit Connect from the official page if the icon is nowhere to find. Launch Main Menu and choose Troubleshooting. Choose Check for updates underneath the Fitbit Connect number. Now return to the main menu and choose Check for device update. You will be asked to sign into your Fitbit account. Your tracker will connect to Fitbit Connect and a firmware update should be available. When Fitbit Connect finds an update, you will see a progress bar of the update on the screen of the computer and your tracker. The update will take several minute and keep it nearby to the computer during the process. Once the Fitbit Surge Update is complete a confirmation message appears and your tracker will reboot. Now you are ready to workout.
